VBI Promotes Dr. Stefan Hoops
Dr. Hoops has served as the Center of Modeling Immunity to Enteric Pathogens (MIEP) Bioinformatics Lead since October 2010. Due to his outstanding efforts and contribution to VBI, Dr. Hoops has been promoted to Research Assistant Professor. Under his leadership, the MIEP Bioinformatics team developed a Cyberinfrastructure, supporting the Systems Immunology Research and Discovery. The Cyberinfrastructure is comprised of a) Website for the dissemination of the scientific results of MIEP; b) LabKey – a laboratory management information (LIMS) system for real time data-acquisition, data analysis, collaboration, and for publication of raw and processed data; c) a mouse colony management system to facilitate the project management and tracking of mice; and f) HPC resources for modeling (Condor-COPASI) and RNA-seq data analysis (Galaxy). Additionally, Dr. Hoops has significantly contributed to the modeling and tool development efforts of MIEP. Congratulations Stefan for the well-deserved promotion!
